Nowadays, it is easier than ever to publish your datasets online. There is a plethora of online tools that you can make use of to host your data, such as, Github and Google Spreadsheets.

Tate Collection of Art

Tate art gallery holds national collection of British art from 1500 to the present day, as well as international modern and contemporary art. They decided in September to publish their collection dataset on github. The dataset contains the “Concise catalogue entries” for all wholly owned artworks in the Tate collection including the Artist Rooms collection which is jointly owned with the National Galleries of Scotland. It was made available under the permissive Creative Commons Zero License, i.e. Public Domain Dedication, so that it may be used for research and other purposes.

In case you are interested in GLAM (Galleries, Libraries, Archives, and Museums), or you are just into art and architecture, and would like to voluntarily work on creating similar datasets for Egyptian art or monuments, please contact us here and let’s see how we can work together on this.
